I grew up playing hockey in the Southeast. I worked hard, but for much of that time I was pursuing my goals without much of a social environment built around them. I also barely used social media, even when having a stronger presence could have helped with exposure and recruitment.
At 16, I moved to New Jersey to play junior hockey. Suddenly, I was surrounded by teammates, coaches, competition, and people who knew exactly what I was working toward. That experience showed me how powerful accountability can be when the people around you are invested in your progress.
At the same time, I saw just how powerful social media was at capturing people's attention — often without helping them move toward anything meaningful.
Those two experiences eventually led me to GoalShare. Most goals don't come with a team. I'm building GoalShare to help change that.
